There is so much character in the bush.
Each animal has it’s own definite ‘character’, and their looks and ‘body language’ very much tell their story.
The Warthog is such an obvious family group - mother with her children and father not far away. They fiercely protect their young against all predators, who get a nasty shock when messing with this doughty little animal. Upright, stout, proud, and full of heart.
This is one of the smallest bronzes, standing 7.5 cms at it’s shoulder and 13.5 cms nose to bottom.
This is a series of 15, the next in the series is 3/15.
Price: R12 600.00

This is not such an unusual sight in the bush. The saying “the best form of defense is attack” seems to be a motto for the warthog.
Running with the tail up like an aerial is a signal for the young to follow through the bush. With the long grass of savannah or bushveld, a warthog’s size doesn’t stand above the top of the grass, so it’s tail is very useful, almost doubling it’s height for visibility.
In the wild, so often is the tail used for signals, both by the predator and prey alike.
